Fed-up

I AM PISSED WITH 2 THINGS:

1. THE E-LEARNING LOAD TEST IS A MAJOR FAILURE
  • THERE ARE TOO MANY LINKS THAT CONFUSE ME. EACH SUBJECT HAS 5 DIFFERENT LINKS THAT DO NOT COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER ALTHOUGH THEY ARE ALL UNDER ONE SUBJECT
  • THE LOADING TIME TAKES FOREVER
  • YOU SHOULD JUST CATAGORIZE EVERYTHING UNDER SUBJECTS INSTEAD OF BY DATE OF UPLOAD OF THE FILE

2. I GOT CHASED OUT OF CAFE GALILEE AT MARINE PARADE

Okay, fine. Anthony, Russell and I got chased out cause apparently we were there for too long. Like excuse me? Whatever happened to 'leave them alone to study as long as they buy things from us?' Starbucks is so much better. We make noise, they don't disturb. We sit there the whole entire day to study, they don't care. What do they do? They flirt. Isn't that so much better than chasing your customers away? ARGH!

Anyway, study session with Antz and Russell was good. I actually completed Maths assignment and tutorial as well as finished studying Econs. The only problem was that I do not know how to apply the concepts of elasticity of demand and supply to the questions. Bleargh. I am beginning to hate Econs. I need to pass that test on Thursday. Consultation on Wednesday, anyone?

Considering my bad mood today, I think I'll be in for a true blue Monday blues tomorrow. But I guess I'll be okay cause I'll be dropping by Temasek to collect my certificate. So Temasekians, be afraid. Be very afraid. Nah, just kidding. Since tomorrow is the official start of the mid-year exams, I wanna wish all the Sec 4s the best for their language papers tomorrow. I'm so glad it's over for me. But then again, A's is less than 18 months from now.

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Confusion

Friday, April 27, 2007

Peace be upon you.

It makes me laugh to see Brian Yew act as an Malay-Muslim cultural nationalist for History. Why, you may ask? Cause he wore a black trash bag that was supposed to be a sarong and Charlotte and Farah made a 'songkok' for him. He looked more like a teh-tarik maker than a cultural nationalist. And he said BAPAK KAU PUNYE COUNTRY, KE APE? Hilarious. Made me snort and do the silent laughter that hurts like crap. By the way, the English translation of what Brian said is 'your father's country, is it?'

So today's a very rainy Friday. Soccer match against NYJC was postponed cause there was lightning and thunder. You can't possibly allow the soccer players to put their lives on a string, right? Today I slacked like f*****. Thanks to Faizal who psychoed me to just sit down, watch the rain drops falling on my head *Sham starts to sing* and enjoy Starbucks. But then again, rainy days are so appreciated cause they make you sleep and not do work. Bleargh. I feel so guilty cause I have a lot of work to do. Econs test week. History tutorials due in like a week and it's not just one essay, but 4 essays. God save me.

I'm a very happy girl. That's why I'm just crapping and talking nonsense. Installed Adobe Photoshop to my new laptop and so now I can get my creative juices flowing again. Yay me! Anyway, Ayah told me to get him an MJC PE shirt. Apparently he says it's gonna be in his time capsule. Haha. Now I know where I get my lameness from. I miss my dad. Can't wait to go out with him next week.

Oh yes, this weekend is called The Catch Up Weekend. I need to complete all my assignments and tutorials and on top of that, study for Econs test.

May the world be a better place.

The Mosh Pit

Monday, April 23, 2007

It is official.

Bus number 39 has become the worst mosh pit you can ever get yourself in.

Forget about Baybeats 2006 or Youth Gone Wild 2006 or even Smash'd 2006. Bus number 39 is one of the mosh pit I'ver ever seen. If you take the bus from my stop at Tampines, it's not too bad. It'll be like the first few performances of a gig where the bands are literally unknown. You have the friends of the performers clapping formally instead of the usual wolf whistles or cheering you get when you go to gigs. Then once the bus enters Pasir Ris, that's when you have the hot vocalists and their equally hot guitarists and drummers strolling on stage and all of a sudden, the whole world appears in front of the stage. You have girls screaming cause their beautiful hair is being ruined by the hands of Apeks and Nyonyas who are frantically trying to tap their Ez-Link cards on to the card reader cause they don't want to be scolded by your friendly bus driver. It's like the equivelent of crazy Minahs trying to grab the legs of their oh-so-hot fantasy boyfriend who's playing the guitar or singing an emo song with long hair that covers their face.

Then there are fashionistas who want to board the bus but are scared to. They wear beautiful dresses and stilletoes or perhaps pumps and put on an inch thick of foudation without any blusher or eyeshadow and end up looking like a really rich corpse. They flag the bus with their hands waving up and down but when the bus stops, they get frightened cause they know that their outfits and face will be ruined. What do they do instead? Give a very paiseh look to the bus driver, say something in Mandarin like 'never mind' and then disappear from the bus stop. A few metres away from the bus stop later, you'd see a very familliar face in that blue taxi. This kind of people can be related very similarly to a group of people I call poseurs. They come to gigs dressed to kill, sometimes wearing studded jackets and emo band shirts, holding hands with their girlfriends and just standing in the mosh pit. Yes my friends, just standing in a mosh pit. They don't push people nor do they scream when a good band comes along. They are just there for show. But the worst part is when people start to push their girlfriends, they get really angry.

Dude, which part of this-is-a-mosh-pit don't you get? No one escapes the mosh uninjured. So what do they do? They just get out of the mosh and start to find fault as though they own the concert or something.

So when it's time for me to get down from bus number 39, I have to squeeze my through the mosh pit just like the other Meridians who are doing so as well. I step on bare feet and shoes and sometimes pulling hair as well. I have Mats screaming 'Damned you people!' at me and Minahs making very orgasmistic sounds just because people have to touch them (its not as though we want to touch you). You can really see from the Number 39 Mosh Pit that chilvary is really dead. Guys push girls and girls also push guys. No wait, make that girl without the 's'. It's just me pushing guys.

My daily morning routine has got me thinking. Perhaps I should organize a gig titled 'The Number 39' and all the passengers who take the same bus as me are invited.

Now that would certainly make the world a better place.

The Shocker

Suprise of the century...

My brother, Ajo, has been friends with Ilyas, from Mistaken Identity, since like FOREVER.

I swear I could have killed myself. Why? Cause I came home late on Friday after their gig at Esplanade without telling him why. Coincidence? No. Freaky? Hell yes.

Pics from Mistaken Identity's performance at The Esplanade.

Anyway, I was just reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. I'm only halfway done but it already got me thinking of my future, my life, my dreams and what I really want to do in life. At times, the things you really want to do are simply forbidden. Perhaps because of your religion, or your other obligations. Or maybe because you know it's not worth your time and money. But the point is, it's still your dream. Only you can make it happen, not those around you. We have to sacrifice certain things in life in order to achieve that particular dream. It's called opportunity costs.

We can't expect to have everything in life. But we can have what we want. I'm just rambling, really. I think too much. So much for being a thinker, eh? Bleargh.

The Brother

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

Salaam to all.

Are there any Temasekians out there who have enrolled themselves into Singapore Polytechnic Mechatronics course? If any of you reading this are already in this course, let me warn you.

My brother is in that course.

I am so happy for him! But I think we'll start to fight over the computer again. Thank god for my new laptop.

Blood Donation

Sunday, April 08, 2007

Peace be upon all of you.

Updates on what has been happening for the past two to three weeks.

Archers' Ready! Live at DXO
I went to DXO with Adam (Piperdy) and Sarah last weekend. It was good although we only saww two and a half bands performing. The first band who performed was made up of Mats singing covers that sound really amateur. The second was Ivy's Vendetta. They are ****ing awesome!!! And I'll give you reasons why they were good.

1. They write their own songs.
2. The vocalist sounds like Lifehouse vocalist but better
3. Their songs are very mature and upbeat
4. They are not bloody mats
5. THE VOCALIST IS BLOODY CUTE AND HANDSOME

Ummm.. did I just say that? Heh. Go to www.myspace.com/ivysvendetta for more info.

Anyway, Archers Ready! did a great set at DXO. It was so far their best performance, though Anthony claims they screwed up some parts. I'm really proud of them. They modified the older songs and now they sound really matured and in tune. Sarah fell in love with Sally. ZY and me were happily dancing to Agenda: Kill You. Haha. It was awesome. Mainly because we had the entire dance floor to ourselves and there weren't any mats around. Woohoo. I'm not too sure if I can publicize their Myspace account here. Will put it up once Anthony aka the big man approves. Haha.

Pre- U Seminar Paperless Report
It was this stupid thing that kept be held back in school till night. It's bad enough having someone who keeps giving empty promises on her part as a team member. Lucky thing Azy and Patrick kept me company if not I would have gone berzerk, I tell you. We did the video in like 4 hours. Miss Yasmin says it's a job well done despite the short notice but me being a perfectionist, beg to differ. I thought it wasn't good enough. But hey, when authority says it's cool, it's cool babeh!

Blood Donation
Ahh yes. I donated blood for the first time in my entire seventeen years of life. I am so proud of myself. I was worried I'll get disqualified cause my throat was itching like hell and I felt like coughing. But in the end, I passed through the tests. The questionaire was bizarre, I tell you. They asked questions like 'when was your last sexual activity' and 'did you have sex with multiple partners in the last one week.' I was partly offended by questions but I guess they needed to know. Not all JC students are innocent, you know.

Then the nurse checked my right arm to look for the vein. She felt my arm after putting on the blood pressure thingy and said 'Eh girl, you right vein too big lah. Give me your other arm.' She said it so loudly that everyone there could hear and they were laughing at me. Probably because the norm was that the vein might be too small, but mine was too big. It is kinda funny. Haha

Came the time to insert the needle. I swear I thought it'll hurt bad. Turns out to be, I didn't feel a thing at all. I was talking to Li Wen who was across me and suddenly I turn to the nurse and I saw that blood was already flowing into the blood bag. I yakked and yakked to Li Wen and then I was done.

A female nurse was supposed to bandage my arm but there was this Malay mat looking nurse who came to do the bandaging instead. He took a plain looking bandage then I told him in my sweetest voice I wanted a pink one. Everyone there was laughing again. Why do Meridians find me so amusing? He kept talking and talking to me while bandaging my arm and I could so tell he was flirting. Then he told me to eat and have a drink first before I go off. So concerned, ah? Should award him some GEMS thingy...

Aight. I'll update as soon as I have things to blog about. Plus the picture of me donating blood. Oh, did I mention I got a laptop from daddy? *smiles really wide*

Happy birthday to Ayah and Ajo! The only two men in my life. Well, not really...
